Securing a Ministry of Defence (MoD) facility like Blighmont Barracks leaves zero room for error. The primary challenge was the operational requirement for 100% security continuity.
Unlike standard commercial sites, the boundary could never be “open.” This necessitated a complex, phased installation where every metre of the new Gold Standard perimeter had to be fully commissioned before the legacy boundary could be decommissioned.
The NFF Gold Standard: LPS 1175 SR1 Security
To meet the MoD’s “Paramount Security” profile, we deployed a high-spec system designed to withstand targeted attacks and prevent unauthorised access:
LPS 1175 SR1 High Security Mesh
600 LM of Y-Crank barb extensions
of gates, with integrated access control
Shovelled – thanks to the Beast from the East!
True Accountability is tested when conditions are at their worst. During the final phase of the project in February 2018, the UK was hit by “The Beast from the East.” Despite sub-zero temperatures and over 30kg of snow being shovelled per man, our team maintained the Golden Thread of project delivery.
By refusing to stall, we completed the entire 600-metre high-security install, including all six gate sets, within a strict 4-week window.
We didn’t just meet the deadline; we maintained the “Military Precision” the MoD expects from a Tier 1 partner.
