What We Can Do For You

Over time, our site has been developed beyond recognition, from its humble beginnings nearly 50 years ago, into what it is today.

As our name suggests we are conscious of protecting the heritage of woodland forests, without which we would have no business, so we select our suppliers on the basis that their timber is sourced from well managed forests, with minimal environmental impact.

We source 90% of our  timber from British woodland and give preference to suppliers who demonstrate a commitment to progressive improvement in environmental management. This is not necessarily an expensive alternative and we constantly monitor our prices to ensure that you, the customer, receive quality products from a good sustainable source at competitive prices.

The machine workshop has proved to be an invaluable cog in the ‘New Forest Fencing machine’ with the capacity to produce just what the customer wants, and quite often while he waits. Whether the customer wants special mortices, planed all round timber, rounding and shaping of posts or even producing an entire cut to size order such as a kit for a pergola, it usually happens in this workshop.

Very often a customer will submit an unusual request, which simply is not available, anywhere off the shelf. The facility to produce, exactly what the customer wants, with a quick turn around has given our family the edge, and made a huge impact on building up and retaining a regular customer base which is now the envy of other fencing suppliers and wholesalers.

In the early 90’s the investment of the treatment plant for “pressure treating” softwood timber to the current British Standards, was well worthwhile, as all customers expect their timber to last and most builders and architects specify it as the standard. Once again the family’s vision paid off, the ability to treat timber on our own site has kept transport costs to a minimum and speeded up considerably the production process.  We can cut a timber order in the morning and it can be pressure treated the same afternoon, which keeps customers happy.
